Giovy Malfiori

Born in 1978 and a traveller inside since that moment. Life is writing, cooking and travelling the world, no matter if near or far. I’m deep in love with Wales, England and alla the British Isles. Rugby playing is the best kick to problem, boredom and difficult moment. I’m resident in Italy but I feel like being citizen of the World. I’m a good organizer, I’m a good captain. One of my dreams is manage my own Italian delicatessen in North Wales.

You can work pretty much where you want to – on the road, do you find it hard to work or do you just have fun and work when you come back home?

I am a normal worker, as many other people in the world. I travel for fun and for writing but, in this point of my life, I need a "normal" job to pay my bills. I'd like to become in a near future a digital nomad because I'm a traveller inside and I find it very interesting.

Do you feel many people are envious of your lifestyle?

Many people are asking me "did you really participate in all the travel you are telling us about?" The answer is yes. I started travelling alone at the age of 15 because my parents pushed me to discover the world with my eyes and my experiences. Now I'm 34 years and in about 20 years I've seen a big part of the world. Probably some people are envious (but it is a good envy, not an evil one) of my ability to take my backpack, organize and go. This is freedom.

In which countries have people recognised you, even when you thought nobody would?

This hasn't happened yet. But I hope it will! :) My readers are mostly Italian. It happened that I attended an event in North Italy where I met other bloggers and one of them told me "Ah... you are Mrs Wales!" (because I'm writing a lot about Wales).

Which three items would you never travel without?

As Oscar Wilde wrote, " I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read on the train". My diary (or something to write on and pen) is always with me. The second item is my red rain mantel. Always useful. Third item is the sun protection. My skin is quite clear.

Are there any specific souvenirs or other things you collect from the places you go to?

I collect images, with my camera and my eyes. I like collecting tastes and experiences to tell. I normally buy a magnet for my fridge.
