Megan Allene Smith

I have always had a passion for writing, photography, and travel. I finally decided to combine all of those things into a blog that I launched in 2012. Right now, I work full-time and travel when I can, but hope to someday travel full-time or live abroad and continue to write about and photograph my experiences.

You can work pretty much where you want to – on the road, do you find it hard to work or do you just have fun and work when you come back home?

I try to do a little bit of work while I'm on the road. I'll write a little bit and make sure everything is in order so that when I get back home, I can put everything together. I do most of my work when I'm back at home, hoping instead, to enjoy myself while on the road.

Do you feel many people are envious of your lifestyle?

I sometimes hear from people that they are envious. That's certainly not my intention--I just do it because I love it!

In which countries have people recognised you, even when you thought nobody would?

My blog hasn't been up and running long enough for people to recognize me... yet.

Which three items would you never travel without?

A camera, a notebook or journal of some sort, and an iPhone (for music).

Are there any specific souvenirs or other things you collect from the places you go to?

I really like to collect things that I can wear or will get use out of. I tried collecting little trinkets for a while, but find that they just turn into clutter for me. So I prefer to collect jewelry, scarves, clothing, books, soaps, etc.
