A girl that see’s life behind the lens, Alicia is a New Media Producer and Social Media Specialist in the travel biz fueled by tea, adventure + hustle. As co-founder of the Toronto #TravelMassive she believes offline connections are just as important as the relationships you make online.

You can work pretty much where you want to – on the road, do you find it hard to work or do you just have fun and work when you come back home?

When I'm away from wifi and on out siteseeing, I'm usually capturing video footage and photos of the experience (while balancing it with some 'me' time). Then when I get back to my hotel room or hostel that night, I back-up everything onto hard drives, and write out some thoughts from the day while it's fresh in my mind. This way when I return back home, I have everything I need to write out an article or edit a video.

I also like to work in airports and on airplanes. They make the best edit suites for editing photos and organizing video footage, especially on those long haul flights.

Do you feel many people are envious of your lifestyle?

I wouldn't say envious, but rather more inspired. When someone says to me, 'man I wish I could travel as much as you do' I always respond with, "Well why don't you?" Anything is possible if you work hard and want it bad enough. Take a look at your lifestyle and figure out what you can 'cut out' to get there. You'd be surprised how simple and easy it can be if you look at things objectively.

In which countries have people recognised you, even when you thought nobody would?

Australia. There are SO many travellers coming and going there that I was caught off guard when one of my followers spotting me and asked if I was 'that travel blogger girl Alicia'.

Which three items would you never travel without?

My camera, hiking shoes and iPhone.

Are there any specific souvenirs or other things you collect from the places you go to?

Yes! Fridge magnets and bracelets. I love having them as a daily reminder of all the wonderful experiences I had in various countries. I also like bringing things home however that are authentic to the country's culture. For example a hookah pipe and sheesha from Egypt.
